Is it the weekend yet? Yes, as you can probably guess, I’m one Queen that’s very excited about DSD’s return this weekend. Oh whatever the weather we are gonna get Higher this Sunday at Club Revenge. Sunshine and we’re getting Higher on the Revenge Terrace, rain and we’re getting Higher in the Revenge Box Bar for a DSD Sunday session not to be missed.
And the soundtrack? Well despite my usual penchant for deep and dirty I have a feeling that these two disco wonders will creep their way prettily into my early Sunday set. Yes I’m smitten with the glorious Joey Negro Vs Horse Meat Disco’s Candidate For Love (Horse Meat Disco mix), a joyous tune with dirty disco love sprinkled all over it, a right bobby dazzler. And I’m loving the wonderful Opal Ain’t No Way. Yet another diva doing it for this regal one. So thanks to the Horse Meat Disco boys for the disco heads up. Grab a vinyl copy of Candidate For Love on Record Store Day this Saturday, check out their wonderful new compilation Horse Meat Disco IV on Strut Records or, better still, come get Higher with me on Sunday and hear it played loud and DSD proud.
Catch Queenie doing her disco infused deep house thing alongside Mister Barker and special guest Paul Coals at DSD Higher, Club Revenge Box Bar, Sunday 20th April. 5pm-late. www.facebook.com/dirtysunsetdisco
